Bearing Analysis and Computation software

NabSolve™ is a powerful and highly versatile software tool for developing high-speed gas bearings. It is capable to compute a wide variety of gas bearings with an unmatched level of speed and precision. The software is originally created by M. Nabuurs back in 2010 and is under continuous developed since then. The latest version of NabSolve™ is capable to efficiently compute and analyze:

  • Frequency depending stiffness and damping coefficients (4x4)
  • Rotor dynamic stability, both in frequency and time domain
  • Nonlinear rotor response and whirl behavior
  • Extreme imbalance response
  • Influence of bearing misalignment and rotor flexing
  • Dimensionless stability charts and Campbell diagrams
  • Power losses and thermal effects

Computational results can be stored in many different formats. As a consequence, NabSolve™ works seamless together with 3th party software. In addition, NabSolve™ is written in C++, a powerful language, which provides good interoperability and maintainability for the future.

Examples

NabSolvePressure

Gas-film pressure for a tiling pad bearing with three pads, each having 5-dof.

NabSolveStabChart

Bearing stability chart for a 16mm ID bearing, indicating stable combinations of rotor mass and speed.
